Wine-based, serves many
“Not to be confused with Grog”
Ingredients:
3 bottles Dry Red Wine
375 mL Gin or Cognac
375 mL Oloroso Sherry
100 mL Demerara Syrup*
1.5 cups Golden Raisins
Spices:
8g of Cinnamon
3g each: Allspice & Anise
2g each: Clove, Cardamom, Fennel, & Black Pepper
Instructions:
1. Lightly crack spices & warm over medium heat in a 4qt pot until aromatic.
2. Add remaining ingredients and heat to a simmer.
3. Reduce heat and serve warm.
4. Garnish with a Convenient Cocktail Orange Wheel and Lemon Wheel. Enjoy!
Suggested Garnishes:
*Demerara Syrup:
Place a small saucepan over medium-low heat.
Pour in 2 cups of Demerara sugar. Do NOT substitute white or brown sugar. Trust us, it’s worth it!
Pour in 1 cup of hot water, stirring continuously until the sugar completely dissolves.
Let cool, then transfer into an airtight container and use as needed in your favorite cocktails for extra sweetness and body!
